Anynone who has been around the firehouse for some time remember the 10th batt meetings? those were sure fun a full day of: brotherhood,food/beverages,racing videos,more food/beverages maybe a driver training drill,shoot the s#it with eachother it was just a great time and was usually held 3-4 times a year by guys from Nassau/Suffolk Depts and moved around to different hosts firehouses. Anybody remember them care to share any stories?

yes Mike was a good friend of he is a great guy he did the smart thing which was to MOVE OFF THIS ISLAND!!!!!! I didn't see him this year in Montauk for the St. Patrick's parade.

If i remember correctly didnt someone create a 10th battalion and made it half way ligit, house rigs and everything???

I had many good times at those "meetings". We hosted one at my headquarters while I was Chief. Mike was a good friend, dispatcher, and party planner. It seemed like he knew everyone in the County...and beyond.

Some very interesting standby agreements were born at those meetings.

I still have my Bellrose Terrace shirt that say "Keep Back 13 Blocks" on the back!!!!!!

I still have that shirt also and it still fits!! was there at BTFD upstairs in the old rec room without any couches. They didn't have any couches because the old guys were afraid of the young guys bring ladies up there at night. There was also a drivers training drill later on that day with a tour of BTFD's 13 blocks. Those shirts were great not like the 2 washes you get out of t-shirts now adays (2 washes and its shrunk) I was there at your FH and somehow a NCPD car got a piston knocker logo on its side don't know how that happened :? :? :? it matched perfectly since it was a blue decal on the orange stripe I wonder if anyone ever noticed or said anythin about it. Mike was a great organizer of those events.
