How do fire co have more than 1 chief from the same house ? And how does a co not have a chief. is this right? For 2 years there is a co that doesnt have a chief from there house to represent them. Now the house with 2 chiefs who boss to the officers. another thing is the chief who got in OUT OF ORDER was not supported by the co that he is from. He went to other co and got there support before he even went and told the co he is from. Is that wrong or the guys crazy in the co.
not everyone gets represented. we have 4 companies and only 3 chiefs, so you can always be assured someone isn't get rep'd. Besides, if they are a fair chief, they do whats right by the entire membership, not just there company..
I agree with Jack; keep this crap off the public forum. Looks to be a lot of newbees joining the Rant this month, only to stirr up issues due to their displeasure with majority rule. The Rant Master is watching!
Not to encourage discussion of internal matters, but what you describe as a problem is Wantagh's system by design.
We have a CoD and three assistants, one from each zone. Clearly, whatever zone 6900 came from has two chiefs on the staff. Furthermore, two of our three zones have two houses in each, so there is clearly unequal distribution of chief officers. As long as the chiefs are even-handed and the membership adheres to chain of command, then the system works.
Whatever situation your department got itself in, it's for you guys to resolve...it doesn't belong here.
it's unfortunate not to have a chief from your house, but you have to make the best of it. look at it's advantages ie: not having to host meetings or dept functions at you house.
there are plenty of dept's where they don't have a chief for every company or there are two chiefs from the same house. they survive and so will you.
ok i was just asking to see if that was fair some places do have only have 3 chiefs for 4 co but thats the way its been in your department this is a new changefor where i been. i wasnt trying to put out dirty laundry out there, just wanted to see what others thought about it and get some advice. mfd110 i may be an asshole to you but we as a co were a tight bunch untill this type of stuff went on so to see what others had to say,and your big comment is iam an asshole so we know what type of ff you must be .oneway all about yourself. To the other guys sorry again i didnt want to come across like it was dirty laundry just looking for others views.
I agree tillerman, the real issue is maybe these chiefs from the same company have the time for it, not everyone in the department wants the position. Everyone has the same right to run for the position if they are fit for it.
