If My House Was On Fire and my son was in peril...I would not care where the chief was responding in from. I would only care that a VOLUNTEER Chief stopped what he was doing all those towns away To come and assist me & my family in my time of need. I hope all the aggravation he gets as chief is worth that big raise he recieved with his rank.....oh wait..

Since we are on this subject, I was the one that said we can't use our blue lights when we are out of our district. That is what I heard way back in the day. But I kinda disreguard that anyway...
My question is, are Fire Commissioners allowed to use red lights in their personnel vehicles ?? If so, is that what NYS Law says ??

ladder 3...thats an old tale created by a crazed chief from our old company to aggravate guys.(chief S )...As far as this thread goes, well...If youve listened to the general publics opinion on volunteers and kept it in mind..along with all the nonsense that is produced from newsday...SOME....AND I HIGHLIGHT THAT, some guys do press the issue and do stupid things. They might not be stupid guys, they might have just made a poor decision to roll hot from 20 miles away to a nonsense call...but ..This is viewed by the public and sways how they feel. Myself and a friend were on Old country Road...a super buffed out car with a ton of blue and white lights passed on the left in the oncoming lane and continued on...we lost him in West Hills...a pretty far trip away...no sirens to warn motorists and a couple of near misses. We stayed behind him for as long and safe as possible...it was amazing that he didnt kill anyone....thats what they remember...The guy in the escort with no lights who pulls up to the firehouse astonishes them...
