there are your dept's tones (chief general,rescue, etc) then there are the "wake up"tones (they follow the cheif,rescue etc), then there is the alert tone (used to get your attention...signal 10, another run, urgent message)

it sounds like you are talking about your dept tones. no?

I believe Hewlett is currently using their backup tones and it sounds like a Nintendo game at the end. I don't listen to all that many but that one always sticks out. Maybe W2LIE could make up a clip of all the county tones for us to compare.

valley stream general return tones, merrick general tones. east rock used to have cool tones w/a dtmf sequence in the middle but they changed it.
