Default Ambulance staffing              Go to Top

Can someone remind me what the state protocals are for staffing an ambulance during a run? I thought it was something like 2 pesonel, one emt level or above and a first responder level driver. Thanks

NYS minimum staffing is 2 personnel on the ambulance. One driver and one emt-b or higher in the back performing patient care.

The driver isn't required to be a tech or a first responder.

We have 2 emts on the ambulance.

1 driver, 1 aideman.

Sometimes we ride with a 3rd.
