Angelina Jolie to film spy thriller on Long Island

Angelina Jolie will film parts of an espionage thriller in March on Long Island.
Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi let slip Wednesday that the Hollywood actress would be on location at the former Grumman facility in Bethpage, filming a movie originally titled "Edwin A. Salt."
Suozzi wasn't supposed to divulge the news, a spokesman says, "but he wanted to add to the intrigue and help market the movie."
Suozzi's remarks came during a meeting of the Long Island Association at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, where he encouraged fellow attendees to come along to the location shoot: "I'll be there to greet you."
The Faded Youth Blog reported in its Web site Thursday that Jolie and Pitt will be renting the Lloyd Neck estate known as Sassafras, which is on the market for more than $60 million. The 48-acre estate once made the Forbes list of the 10 most expensive homes in North America. There are three houses on the property -- one at 22,000 square feet -- as well as two helipads, tennis courts, a pool, and a private cove with a dock.
According to reports last fall in Variety, the Columbia Pictures thriller "Edwin A. Salt," once expected to star Tom Cruise, would be rewritten for Jolie. It also would undergo a slight change of title.
Jolie would play the title character, a CIA officer accused by a defector of being a Russian sleeper spy.
A representative for Columbia was unable to confirm details last night. A phone call to the Nassau County Film Commission was not returned.
Jolie is no stranger to Long Island's expanding movie industry. In August 2005 she filmed parts of the Robert De Niro-directed "The Good Shepherd" in Munsey Park.

...There's was another movie filmed in East Meadow a few months ago, Some Sopranos takes filmed at various Nassau Locations, and of course, watch one or 2 of the "classics" and see what Nassau toll bridge and popular night spot was filmed/referenced too...
...800 movies & "Reality" TV shows get filmed in Nassau... our benefit... ZERO
...PD details assigned to these shoots on OT.
..If ya think Angelina is eating at Appleby's or staying at anything less than the GC Hotel, you're mistaken.

Also there has been 2 movies filmed at the jail in East Meadow last year, 1 so far this year, and 2 more that i know of in the near future; and still the county is broke with all the money these production companies pay!

I remember a few years ago there was a story that speilberg or baldwin wanted to create a perminate movie studio on the old Gruman property but it never materialized. I think nassau would want to sell that land and get some money flow going.
The article states Jolie and Pitt will be renting the Lloyd Neck estate known as Sassafras, which is on the market for more than $60 million and contains two helipads. So shes probably gonna just chopper in everyday to the site, I doubt a hotel.

if you are referring with typical tongue in cheek to what I think you are referring to, then I can say I know a lot of people who were very grateful that the film crew for that production chose to go North instead of South at the exit

Rescue Me was also filmed in old bethpage. If you recall the episode when he went to take his kids back. The school that was in the background was the Elementary School on Round Swamp Road. The werealso filmingon on Melissa Rd for that scene.
Then when he got his kids and was driving through the "Country." They actually drove up and down Round Swamp Road in between Bethpage Golf Course and where my firehouse is on Round Swamp Road.
You would have thought that a tv show about firefighting would include the locals for some support?! oh well.
Anyone know of upcoming filming?
Post them, I'd love to get a glance at angie!!!!!!!! or someone else just as hot.
