And to think, the only reason I even peeked at this thread was I was Teach was the last person that posted, little did I know my name was mentioned. I don't know where I might have been on that program you saw Cobra but I was well buried underground that night hiding behind a microphone. I never saw the actual site until many years later. So unless there was an interview done indoors with some behind the scenes people, it wasn't me.
My apologies then tellm, i saw a person carrying a patient that resembled the few facial shots i have seen from thunders avatars.
Alot of people dont realize what else happaned that nite. Powells Lane, 150' north of Jericho Tpke. Female homicide victim found on the side of the road, no NCPD 14 A's available. Crime Scene and transport to NCMC Morgue done by FD accompanied by Homicide Det.
That was some night...couple of nice pictures of the brothers from Cold Spring Harbor on those youtube videos...brought back some memories of when I was there...thanks brothers.
I can remember when fire com first tone this call out to Oyster Bay. I thought it was a small plane involved at first. I was in the 12th grade then stayed up the whole nite listening to the scanner.

I'm guessing you sent a lot more then an ambulance though.
I didn't send anyone...I was there doing my AMT thing...but actually that night saw a very coordinated effort that not many people bring up about how firecom and the FD's worked together to make sure the rest of the County wasn't stripped of ambulance service on top of directing lots of mutual aid units to the scene.
Firecom did a great job that nite, like I said before heard everything from the beginning to almost the end. I kept my scanner on 46.10 46.12. Jericho 460.600, Med Com, NCPD 2n8 pct NCPD Hwy/S.O.D.
When I was going through the NCPD academy they played us the original 911 call. The lady calling 911 was so calm, she just stated a plane crash in her backyard. We also heard the recording of the first Cove Neck officer on scene requesting a ambulance.
