Nope, I agree with you 100%. All these years later after it was made and it is still a great movie to watch! Funny thing is that it is a "clean" movie(ie: no profanity, etc) and it is still funny as hell!! It's a movie from when movies were movies!
We just had this discussion the other day at work that there actually is supposed to be a sequel at some point. The original writers had signed off on the story a long time ago and it seems that there is some rumor about making it. All of the stars from the original that are still alive have supposedly agreed to participate, with the story having something to do with the money they found being counterfeit and the real money is still out there some place. The guess is that it would be descendants of the original participants that will begin a new search for the money. I highly doubt that the original flavor of the movie could ever be replicated. Also another fact is that the original movie before it got edited down was over five hours long! There is also rumor of fall deleted scenes being restored and the entire uncut version being released at some point.
You would have to be a real buff on this movie to remeber this line..but its one me and my buddy used to say all the time about 15 years ago...we were responding to a call and the driver was a sr. guy who was about at the end of his rope as a driver, anyway we are heading down Hempstead Tpke. lights and sirens and me and my buddy are facing each other in the jumpseats, we are looking out to the street and cars are passing us!! I said to him the line Cid Ceasar said in the airplane to the pilot... "The cars are going faster then we are going!!!" So whenever there was a slow dirver we would say that to each other......You had to be there I guess..... hehehheheh....

It was on Cablevision Channel 43 Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. Heard one of my favorite lines, it helps if you see this one because who says it and how it says it make it all much better.
