Default logging out...              Go to Top

Ever since the Rant was temp. shut down a few weeks back, it takes about 1-2 minutes for me to log out once I click the 'log out' button. My screen goes gray, then just kid of sits idle for approx 2 mins, then I get the dialogue box that asks 'are you sure you want to log out'.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

I'm sure most of us have seen a post like "CALL 555-5555 for a good time tonight, guys" and so-on because someone was on the fire house computer on the rant and they left it logged in.

Sounds like an issue with the JavaScript parser, and just a slower computer / browser.

What Operation System are you using, and what version? (2000, XP Home, XP Pro, Vista?)
What Internet Browser are you using, and what version? (Internet Explorer 6, IE7, FireFox 2, FireFox 3 ...)

Is your computer sluggish anywhere else, is your computer getting constant pop-ups?

Have you manually deleted your cookies? (Sounds funnier then it really is.)

/!\ WARNING /!\ Doing this will log you out of most websites! /!\ WARNING /!\
This warning even apply's to your banking website,
that I hope you don't have a saved password,
and a cookie controlled account.
(Both bad practice for such a high security account.)

Within IE7, click on the tools drop down from the menu area (by the address bar). From their go to internet options. Under the Browsing History section, click the Delete... button. From there click the Delete Cookies Button.

I would also recommend deleting all of your other data as well, should this not work, and it's generally good practice to do it from time to time.
