M-LFD Co. #4 responded back to the scene at 2247hrs with Engine 8740 to stand-by while the NCFM/HazMat/ESU searched for and removed two 30lb. propane tanks from inside the building that were being used on a hi-low. The building was also being demolished at this time. A bunch of photographs of the original scene can be viewed here. I should have a full write-up on the website sometime tomorrow. Good thing the collapse occurred after the shop was closed for the day instead of say 2pm. Good cooperation between M-LFD and NCPD ESU.
On a side note, M-LFD Co.'s 3 and 4 responded to another collapse call on Saturday afternoon at 130 South Middle Neck Road. A large section of a 2nd floor walkway collapsed without any injuries.
