I have to purchase a mini van (dont laugh), I am torn right now between the Honda Oddesy and the Chrysler Town and Country, does anyone have either one of these and what do you think of them?
As far as Consumer Reports goes, they'll say go with the Honda everytime. I think Motor Trend also favors the Honda. When it comes to reliability over the long term, it is hard to beat a Honda. Also, when you compare the interiors of the 2 take a good look t the fit and finish. On the Chrysler, you are likely to see poor fitting panels, possibly wires hanging, sharp edges, poorly lit instrumentation, and a whole host of other details, that will most likely be perfect on the Honda. Also, consider resale value. At the end of 36 or 48 mos. the Honda will retain far more of its original value than the Chrysler. (An easy way to find out is inquire about leasing for a specific period of time, and they will tell you what the expected resale value is at the end of the period--a/k/a the residual).
i have owned the chrysler town and country for 2 yrs it is nice vehicle only plan on keeping it for 5-7 yrs but the honda is alittle bit better value for its money my brother has had one for 2 yrs and loves it.
ever buy parts for an import lately or try to have work done? My friend has a honda CRV and the starter took a dump. They had to pull the engine to change the starter!!! 1500.00 in labor+300.00 part!!!! A tune up for a foreign car is a fortune(800.00) Buy the town&country, you'll save money in the long run.
Get the Honda. You sould put two lightbars on top and about seven radios between the front seats. Not to mention....nevermind. Ask Old Snorkel weenie he has one and loves it.
Most of my friends have the Chrysler Town and Country's. They haven't had any complaints...I would have gotten one if I wasn't in such a rush to get a new vehicle. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan.
I say go with Honda as well. Yes imports are harder to work on and cost more in tune ups but their life span is far greater, then the Mopar in this case. With that said the only Mopar I'd own is a Cummins powered and 6 speed.
I love my Honda Odyessey,,,, bought a 2007 in Dec. 2007 when the dealership was getting rid of them ... got 5,000+ off, and it was about 5K less than the Chrysler.... I am VERY Happy with the Honda product... 231X sent you a PM.
I have the 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with stow and go. Love it. The town and country is almost the same as the dodge with some exceptions to the option and standard equipment. I love the stow and go don't have to worry about leaving chairs at home if you need the extra cargo room and than remembering to put them back esp. for putting the child seats back in.
