As Always, its all about $$. "Hey, City of NY, we'll give ya $10M in FEMA $$ if ya drop the 10-codes", $10M buys a lotta pumpers & SOC units

Anyone know of any others that I am missing?

Port Washington... 85 = Member of Dept or Member's Family

Also Port transmits their 49's , 85's and 99's as " Code XX " rather than " Signal XX "

I always liked Mineola's 12A -- units on the road, signal 12 and units still in quarters signal 6. -- gives a lot of orders very quickly.

Also, Wantagh uses a 'Code 69' for members or families.

i believe each dept has the Code XX for members/family members of members... code based upon your battalion and dept #... example RVC is 440 so code 44 is member

I believe in Santa Claus too

It would be great if that were the case but as with everything else in this county there is no uniform standard for a ff family. A lot of them do use the dept number, but there are more than a few who will use sig 70, sig 91, and a few random others.

sorry but that, i know my dept and a couple others around here use that and i was told by a Source (who now appears to be unreliable hah) that every dept did the same

and if you dont believe in Santa, can you pls explain how the presents get under the tree?

Here in Mineola, the signal 12A is a great idea, but is unfortunatly under used by certain chiefs.

In Mineola, 91 = members or families homes

Shouldn't you always use caution responding to the firehouse? You have 40 other pineapples zipping around for that automatic alarm. booopppp booopppp

Signal 45 - Fire victim
Signal 70 - In line pumping or water relay needed

Not standard, but should be.
