I heard a report today that Rupert Murdoch is in the market to purchase everyone's favorite daily Liberal Ass Rag.
In the same report I thought I heard that Ass Rag lost $75 million last year?!? That sounds like a lot. Anyone else hear about this?

Reason: Sending potential sponsors to view site, and "Ass Rag 4 sale" was the first thing they saw on home page...
Liberal or conservative, you should be able to agree that Murdoch is a piece of !
Just another a-hole that uses his money to further his political agenda. Mixing business and politics has been his specialty. Even though he is allegedly a conservative I don't agree with many of his views, and I certainly don't condone his shirking of responsibilities when it comes to paying taxes. He's notorious for finding loopholes and using off-shore accounts to hold onto his earnings. How much lower can he take a rag like Newsday? Guess we may find out as there is some truth to the rumours about a buy-out deal.
news 12 says that cablevision is looking to buy it
That's great. I wonder if Dolan will run it as well as he runs MSG and the Knicks....maybe he'll make Isaiah Thomas his new publisher? I wonder too if it means that I'll pay $150 a month for a newspaper. Between voice, cable and interet it's getting out of control. Verizon Fios ain't no bargain either. I had Vonage for a long time, and while it's a decent service there is NO customer support at all...
Sorry, I digress....
I like the idea of the Fire Service buying the paper. Sounds like a project for Tellem to look into.....
I can confirm this rumor, a very reliable source ( my cousin, the poor sapp) says that rupert murdoch is lookin to buy the newsday, and the plant in melville off of wellwood even got a new ceo who estimates that the company will be back in the black in about 10 yrs. So I'd say it is a victory but not the one we were hoping for.
