Any chance that REMAC will be issuing new pocket-size ALS protocols again after this 'overhaul?' Maybe they could just issue new inserts for the existing books? That little thing's a life saver some days.

We would love to. The problem is funding. Those books were printed with a grant by Mike Balboni just before he left as a NYS Senator. We are looking for funding sources to update them, but the heavy duty pages are expensive. We have not had an increase in state funding in SEVEN years.

The original books issued to ALS providers in Nassau were over $5000.00

Its on the "to do" list.... The regular version is on the website

As stated, its more $$ then REMSCO has.

That said, if you go to www.nassauems.org and click on the protocols page, you can print up your own set. I then copied them at something like 35% actual size, it's almost the same size as the ones issued way back when by REMSCO.

Has the CC nitro protocol been officially approved or published yet? The Regional Council's website has the latest Torodol and AMS protocols but doesnt reference the nitro as standing orders for a CC. I thought that protocol change came first? Is it hung up in the final approval process?

thanks

MTB

The Nitro for CC's change was approved by REMAC after the toradol and was waiting for the public comment period and SEMAC approval (required by state law for protocol changes).

It should take effect February 1st and will be posted soon.

The Nitro for CC's change was approved by REMAC after the toradol

If things keep going the way they're going, the three of us are going to need the nitro and toradol for the chest pains we're going to have!! BTW, got any extra Kevlar??
