NYPD officer Deon L. Taylor killed in Afghanistan; Brooklyn narcotics cop was serving in army

A New York City cop serving with the National Guard in Afghanistan has been killed, Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said Thursday. Officer Deon L. Taylor, a Brooklyn narcotics cop, was killed on Wednesday, Kelly said.
"On behalf of the New York City Police Department, I express my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Police Officer Deon L. Taylor," Kelly said in a statement.
"Like so many of his fellow officers, Deon Taylor courageously served his city at home and his nation abroad. Officer Taylor was among the 258 members of the NYPD currently on military leave, many of them serving in Iraq and Afghanistan," Kelly said.
Taylor, 30, joined the NYPD in January 2005.

Anyone have any idea where he lives..we can give him a final salute as we did for the Fallen Soldier from Elmont a few months ago...please let me know if anyone can find out..

He's from the Bronx....but story gets a little more sad too...
"We are just holding on to God right now. We are in disbelief and in deep grief," said Det. Mo Weathers, Taylor's uncle and a 20-year veteran of the police department."
Taylor, who is engaged with an 8-year-old son, joined the NYPD in 2005 and worked in the transit bureau before joining the narcotics team last year.
"Narcotics is very dangerous," Weathers said. "Deon wanted to make a change in the community and see a change by taking drug dealers off the streets."
In Afghanistan, Taylor's mission was to help train Afghan security forces. He was planning to get married in August of next year.
A graduate of Old Westbury College in Long Island, Taylor was a huge Knicks fan.
