You may also want to think about some big water on the fire as soon as you pull up to try and help contain and knock down the fire. Quick shot from the deck gun never hurt and is always a good option, especially with the smaller crews that FD's are responding in with today.
You woudn't first post about the call than go do some overhaul work...

first line through the front door, protecting the house, the boats gone, the house is on fire. First line protecting the interior stairs, treat this like a house fire, transmit a signal 10. While your sitting outside extinguishing the boat fire, the fire is up the eaves and into the attic. This is the same thing as a car up against a house.

what id the second line never comes, your the only engine on scene for 10 minutes.

First Line Should Be Placed In Side The House To Protect The Interior. It Is A Brick Exterior But Windows And Eaves Will Allow The Spread To The Interior Rather Rapidly.

From only what I can see in the picture and knowing what my Engine manpower was I would give my Size Up, request a Structure Alarm Assignment, Mobile Command for Fast Attack, first line to exposure, second to boat, at the very minimum a man with a line and a TIC or depending on conditions inside the house (hopefully the rear window held)start hooking some ceiling cause if you have to look for it thats where it is.

Putting the first line inside the house is not eliminating the problem it is like putting a band aid on a cut artery....first line to the fire second line inside to protect the exposure

this should be treated the same as a car fire in a garage.....

first line into the house stopping the fire from extending into the structure.

dont be a moth to the light.

YOUR NOT GETTING THE "BIG PICTURE" HERE! THE FIRE HAS ALL READY COMMUNICATED TO THE STRUCTURE SO YOUR FIRST LINE IS GOING IN THE FRONT DOOR. THE SECOND LINE IS GOING TO PUT THE BOAT OUT. ITS REALLY NOT THAT HARD.

THE BIG PICTURE....HOW DO YOU KNOW THE NEXT LINE ISNT ALREADY BEING STRETCHED.....PUT WATER ON THE FIRE....SECOND LINE AND TRUCK INSIDE....ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM AND THEN CONTINUE...YOU DONT KNOW THAT THE FIRE IS INSIDE THE STRUCTURE....CALL OF THE FIRST DUE ENGINE....AT SCENE

what if there is no other engine...... not every place has 3 engines rolling seperatley, the next engine could take 10 minutes to get there or it might not even show up..... by the looks of this this department has manpower issues(we all do). So noone is stretching the second line until the next engine gets there. Your only getting one line out of these guys, make it the one that goes inside.

Save the house, forget about that boat

What are you, nuts?!!!! Those chief cars are expensive, might ruin the Tranny or worse yet, dirty the tires!....On a side note, Ever hear of the term RECEO? That would work here pretty well. Foam is also huge, especially for fiberglass boats and potential amount of fuel involved.

because then youd be pushing the heat, smoke and fire into the house doing more damage to the people inside and the structure itself.

if you have a car fire in a garage do you stretch the line through the house into the building and hit it from inside the house, or do you stetch the line down the driveway and into the garage? put the line between the house and the fire..... this way if fire has extended into the house (which it probably already has) the lines already in place to extinguish the fire in the house.

if the line is positioned between the house and the boat....where it is basic firefighting principles push the fire away dumbass

Agreed with Gotum. 1st line is going in the house. The boat is gone and you are better off getting into a defensive position to save the house. It's going to be in the 2nd floor through either a window or vent. Attack the inside first and the boat second. If there is no fire in the house so be it. at least you have a line in place to cut it off before it gets to far away from you.

If you know your short on man power let the officer in charge go to the interior to check the status while the 1st line is being stretched, if it hasnt advanced inside knock it down from outside then proceed to the interior if the 2nd line has yet to be stretched.

i love people who cant have a discussion and have to have an attitude when they make themselves look like a moron.

the line in this picture isnt between the structure and the fire, the lines outside. You attack this fire like its already entered the house, because it probably has and you want to be ahead of the game. Stretch the line through the FRONT door and protect the rest of the house from fire extension... this is the basics of firefighting, go get in the books GUY.
