Luke 12:48 : "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required". The test of time will determine Obama's political future. Although I did not vote for him for many good reasons, I will take a "wait see" attitude about his ability to lead our nation. I wonder if Rev. Wright will continue to sing his chorus of "GOD DAMN AMERICA" and "THE CHICKENS HAVE COME HOME TO ROOST" now that we have a black man in the oval office?? this is going get very interesting over the next four years. Now it's the Democrats turn on the whipping post and I'm going to enjoy every second of it!!
Anyone who voted for obama is a piece of shit. He's ####ING MUSLIM. You know like the 9/11 terrorist. It's not a race issue it has to do with his religion and he is muslim. The muslim religion calls for all non muslims to convert or be killed and with that how the #### can you support a person and elect them to president when they support a religion that believes the western civilizations (US) should be destroyed?
Curt Schilling blog entry from last night: (Baseball Player)
What a night. I’ve never in my life paid as much attention to a campaign as I have this one, and especially tonight.
Proud to know more Americans voted yesterday than at any time in this countries history. Congratulations to everyone that made their voice heard yesterday.
Senator McCain; damn what a speech. Clearly continuing his life long display of class, dignity, honor and integrity I only wish more people knew the man as well as I do. He exudes those same traits regardless of the audience or venue. I am proud as hell to call he and his family friends. Not many countries are capable of creating men like him and I am proud we are one of them. To John and Cindy and the rest of the McCain family, thank you.
Senator Obama; damn what a campaign. Expert after expert talked about the nearly flawless political campaign he ran, and the voters in this country backed those opinions up, lock stock and barrel. Congratulations Mr. President Elect, I pray to God that starting tomorrow every decision you make, every piece of advice you receive, every minute of counsel given to you, all of those things lead you to make every day from tomorrow on a better one for the people of the greatest nation on earth. I know the move doesn’t become official until January 9th, but we all know better, change begins tomorrow.
Am I disappointed? Sure, the man I know and the man I believed to be the right choice didn’t win. It stops there though. Because tomorrow the sun is going to come up in this country and less than 40 years after an African American was not allowed to use the same bathroom as a white person, sleep in the same hotel, ride on the same bus, go to the same school, less than 40 years later our nation showed the entire world why it is the greatest nation on earth and selected an African American as it’s 44th President.
Do I agree with him? Not a lot. Was he my choice? Nope. But we end that ’stuff’ now right? Tomorrow we all wake up Americans. Tomorrow the world once again looks at us in complete awe. Never has a country on this planet selected what was once a ‘minority’ to it’s highest political position. No free nation has ever done what we just did, again. So while I made no bones about my choice, I do believe in Senator McCain, and I do believe him to be right when he says now is the time to put aside political differences, personal agendas and partisan politics and wish God Speed to President Elect Barack Obama in leading the greatest nation on earth over the next four years. It’s going to take effort and commitment like we’ve never seen.
God Bless every one of you who didn’t forsake the right afforded us today and voted. The votes have been counted and we’ve set our course, time for us to let a new captain take the wheel and steer us into uncharted territory.

From yesterday's New York Times: TrucKie69, do you think the Pope is a secret Muslim, based on this article:
The Vatican: An Overture to Muslims
Published: November 4, 2008
In an attempt to improve relations with the Islamic world, the Vatican opened a three-day Catholic-Muslim seminar on Tuesday. Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, the president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, who is presiding over the meeting, said it marked “a new chapter” in Vatican-Muslim relations. Two years ago, Pope Benedict XVI offended some Muslims when he quoted a medieval text that called some teachings of the Prophet Muhammad “evil and inhuman.” Last year, 138 Muslim scholars wrote to Benedict and other Christian leaders, urging that Christianity and Islam work together. Seminar participants include the Chaldean archbishop, Louis Sako, of Kirkuk in northern Iraq; Tariq Ramadan, a professor of Islamic studies at Oxford; and Seyyed Mustafa Manegheg Damad, a Shiite Muslim from Iran. The meeting is expected to culminate in an audience with Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday.
well maybe with all this affirmative action will finally be killed, i mean hey if a african american man can hold the highest office in the united states, i would say affirmative action isnt needed anymore right?
this just goes to show you that our country is not racist and that anyone can do antything
the only thing i am going to be happy about, is that from now on when someone messes up in our government you cant blame it on bush or on any other republicans, both the legislative branch and the executive branch are liberal democrats. I am sure after 4 years of the nonsense that these people will be putting into our laws and the way our country is run you will see a big republican push in 2012.
I personally would rather see condoleeza rice in 2012 than sarah palin, but palin will do

Makes sense in theory. But, to understand the warped mind of the liberal, you have to realize that this is actually an argument for additional affirmative action--look what it did for Obama. Don't for one second believe that Nancy pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Hillary and yes, Obama will not try and foce through some of the most aggressive affirmative action programs for minorities, gays, women, and non-English speaking people. My prediction is you will see federal legislation prohibiting the states from regulating abortion in any fashion, repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, repeal of welfare reform, the so called "fairness" doctrine and perhaps worst of all, total amnesty for illegal aliens. Remember, the more illegals we make legal, the better the Democrats do. Obama's health plan has always been designed to provide for illegals the same benefits that American Citizens recieve. Remember, Obama is a "citizen of the World."
MYFOXNY.COM/AP -- A case of post-election nerves sent stocks lower Wednesday as investors began questioning what impact a Barack Obama presidency will have on business and the overall economy. The Dow Jones industrials fell 500 points on renewed worries about recession.
Obama will inherit an enormous budget deficit when he is sworn in Jan. 20. Analysts said the market is already growing anxious about who Obama selects as the next Treasury Secretary, as well as who he picks for other Cabinet positions.
"A lot of the policy going forward is going to have an effect on the various sectors of the market," said Joe Keetle, senior wealth manager for Dawson Wealth Management.
Obama's victory means that industries such as oil and gas producers, utilities and pharmaceuticals may face greater regulation and even taxes, while labor unions and automakers are expected to benefit.
In addition, banks, insurance companies, hedge funds and the rest of the financial sector will almost certainly face attempts at a regulatory overhaul by the Democratic Congress next year.
Analysts said the market was also growing uneasy in advance of the Labor Department's October employment report, to be issued on Friday. Economists on average expect a 200,000 drop in payrolls, according to Thomson/IFR. Employers have been slashing jobs after a freeze-up in the credit markets crippled many companies' ability to get financing.
MARKET SNAPSHOT BY FOX BUSINESS (Preliminary calculations)
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 491.35 points, or 5.10%, to 9134.25.
The S&P 500 dropped 53.14 points, or 5.28%, to 952.61.
The Nasdaq Composite slid 98.48 points, or 5.53%, to 1681.64.
The FOX 50 fell 42.84 points, 5.59%, to 724.00.

Sounds like Curt is preparing to enter political arena. Perhaps a Senate run is in his future???
Well if Kerry takes a cabinet post his recently-elected Senate spot would be an appointment by the governor or state legislature. Usually those appointments can't fill an entire term so a special election could be in the future and he is popular in Boston.

Stocks would have dropped today regardless of who won. Any kind of change or shift seems to cause a drop the next day.

For the productive segment of society (hard-working employed taxpayers) this is a disaster. For the "takers" of society, this is gold. It would be unnerving enough simply to elect someone who leans heavily toward socialist policies -- but compound that with the government now having unprecedented control over the banking industry (frankly, now they own it) we are on a slippery slope to the worst of failed European-style socialism and wealth-redistribution on an unprecedented, unchecked scale.
Not bitter, not complaining, not attacking, just simply expressing my take on the situation.
