Right now I'm scanning an EDACS system in South Texas. It has been working great for months, but recently I've been having issues. I usually leave the scanner in HOLD mode on the main Fire Dispatch channel. When the scanner turns on (locked on that channel) it flashes 'Finding Ctrl Channel' and I don't receive any radio traffic. It will stay like this. If I go to SCAN and let it scan or SCAN and right back to HOLD, it will start receiving perfectly. If I then turn the scanner off and back on again, it stops working properly and flashes that message again. Any ideas?
Thanks! That makes sense, but I'm just confused as to why it was fine for so long and it's giving me trouble now. I'll update the firmware and double check the control channels...they may have changed since I programmed it last year.
navy im not that educated with these things. all i know is i recently did the firmware update for my 996t, and it has never worked better. maybe w2 can confirm this info
