FDNY firefighters battled a three alarm blaze on a construction platform below the Throgs Neck bridge in Queens early Friday morning. Water supply and access to the fire were main concerns of arriving units.
Special Operations Units were brought in from all over the city to provide assistance.
FDNY fire boats used their master streams to help extinguish the fire from below.
Traffic on the bridge was closed in both directions for a while and traffic in the area was snarled for hours.
