its funny after reading this thread so many guys are saying "men" are acting like women.. i have never seen a group of "Men" act like bitches as they do on here and in the firehouse.. the women are tougher.. so i don't think its the feminization of America..

Too bad only a few people have the full story on this. No matter...step is alive and well. And a few "mature" ranters on here could've taken a lesson or two from the kid...

How the hell can you downplay what he did? I watched the entire thing unfold. Posting someone's name/where they work is grounds for an ass beating let alone a ban from a stupid message board. If this kid ever gets on in the city he'll have a miserable 20yrs.
P.S- I heard his dept. gave him the boot anyways, great way to start a vollie career, get tossed out of the juniors

first of all:step is a kid:secondly:seems like your defending the other party involved:and if thats the case:get all your facts straight about that other party:this will get embarassing very quickly: step didnt get tossed out: he was going off to school anyway: maybe i overstepped my bounds by saying that but theres no need for a supposed adult to keep going back and forth with him:when you threaten to kick someones ass or due bodily harm to someone over the internet its called aggravated harassment: if you want to get your panties in an uproar get all your facts straight about who did what and who said what: dont forgett theres a few fakes on here who did it all and have seen it all but thats from the outside looking in: especially right now

A lot of people, not just in fire department chat boards, tend to hide behind user names. If you have read any sociological work in the past 10 years you'll realize people hide behind this false identity and that people feel more secure about it. Perhaps we should all just use our real names as our user names so that if something comes to a debate we can just settle as it is. If you can't say it in person why even say it online? Man up.

I don't know the story behind this and don't really care. BUT this is not a "private" place. Out here in cyberspace, we are here for all to see. Even in members only places.
Edited to add: Take a look at the most active threads. Do they bring value added to the fire service? Do they make us better firefighters? Do they enhance to our safety?
Can we bring something posted here back to the firehouse for a positive change?
Or is this just a place where volunteers parrot the dispatch info of another departments alarms and sell blue lights. We are our own worst enemy.
Grow up and grow a pair. It is not hard to find out someone's name on here all you have to do is ask around and Im sure you can figure it out. If you have a problem leave it off the rant and settle it one on one. This is just ruining the rant for people whether you want to believe it or not. It should be a dead issue but certain people can't leave it or him alone. Regardless of what step did everyone needs to remember that at the end of the day he's just a 17 year-old kid -- he's still learning which battles to fight and still has to master the fine art of discretion and tact. Judgment will be off, mistakes will get made. And from what I understand he owned up to what he did and made an apology to the "injured party." If you're not man enough to forgive then are you any better? No need for 30 year-old supposedly mature men to bash a high school kid repeatedly in open forums and then take it even further to a personal level in firehouses and beyond. Alleged "adults" on here outed the kid with pictures and the like, made derogatory comments, and then proceeded to break his balls at every turn. I'd want to defend myself too. But all of it is childish nonsense -- bottom line -- and it needs to stop.
He should be allowed back on, he did have a bunch of good post as far as the actual calls and pictures. Personal Opinions however are just that personal {see my signiture at the bottom}, and should be discussed in a pm rather than a public bored. If maybe we all get back to posts on the actual info heard over the radio or news and equipement maybe things on here can change and uses this forum for what the Boss originally had in mind.
