School's In!

Kids, teachers, etc are all reporting back to school now. Summer is over...

...One or two "tips to know"....

...Between teachers & college students, traffic will INCREASE greatly starting Tuesday on SSP, NSP, GCP, LIE, BQE, etc....

...Not sure what the actual VTL states, BUT...

1) Dont blow past crossing guards with your blue lights

2) You CAN NOT PASS a SCHOOL BUS WITH FLASHING RED LIGHTS in ANY EMERGENCY VEHICLE (more less your POV) without prior authorization...
(Use your own discretion)(If ya dont see an arm waving you through, DONT GO!)

3) The "ZONE" around schools is 20 MPH. 55 in a 20 school zone will getcha screwed...

4) USE YOUR HEADS!!!!! One of those parents picking up their kids is gonna either complain or "be someone" or "know someone"....

excellant the 2 months of no MFA's at the dozen or so schools we respond to will commence! it's always great to be greeted in @ 0845 with an AFA every weekday....Anyone else out there have a preset school response (daytime occupied of course) Inwood has automatic 1 Truck from LCFD to any school, 0700-1800 weekday on an AFA, phone alarm gets a 3n2 response from the battalion. Very heads up, even if you get turned around, makes sense...
