sounds like a good idea. plus for techs with minimal expierience that would like to participate they would have the chance to gain expierience

I think that it is a great idea and it does work well in the Islips... however the Islip departments that use it all have PAID employees and they aren't Fire Departments they are VACs... I would definetly be interested in it but look at our fly cars in Nassau how often are they actually out on the road i can't speak for everyone but i know you dont hear them every day all day in my town or even better when most of us **volunteers** are busy at work ... good idea and definetly something to look at but if we cant get one guy for the fly car then how are we going to get a minimum of two for the bus...just my thoughts let me know what you think... and on another note i think the inter battalion fly car would be a good idea but the same idea applieswhat if south Hempstead has a cardiac arrest and the 4th has their fly car out can the fly car respond if they are in RVC because RVC touches South Hempstead... Resources if you know they are available why not use them????

I think I have heard either Bellmore or North Bellmores fly car going to East Meadow a couple of times. Does anyone know if this is a agreement the two departments have together and if so can they specify what it says....

A bunch of people I work with are either members and/or also work in the town of islip for fd or vac's. One of my buddies from work who works for sayville community was telling me most of the depts. in the town of islip who participate supply the ambulance with volunteers. and the ambulance doesn't always come from a vac, i believe a few fd's participate (not 100% sure on that though). I'll have to find out some more info.

good idea but I cant see anything like that working in Nassau County. We rely on the PD buses some much here, as Suffolk doesn't have the to pick up the slack, so they have to do what they can to provid a service.
