This Tuesday, 2/12:
 You can save the life of one of our own.

Donna Price, wife of Westbury FD Ex-Chief Robert Price and mother of Hicksville FD Lt. Thomas Price, has developed severe kidney disease due to Type 1 diabetes. Donna is in immediate need of a kidney transplant.

Donna cannot wait the 5 – 7 years it takes to receive a donor kidney from the NY State donor list -- so the call is going out to the Nassau FD brotherhood for a direct donation from a suitable donor.



There is more than one way you can help:

1. If you have TYPE O BLOOD and are willing to step up, you can be tested as a suitable kidney donor (if you’re not sure of your blood type, blood type screening will be provided)

2. You can donate much-needed blood for our local blood banks (so even if you're not a possible kidney donor, please come in and donate blood!)

3. SPREAD THE WORD to your family, friends, and neighbors



If you’re willing to step up as a possible Kidney Donor, please call Thomas Price at 516 250-3086, or Robert Senn at 516 849-2259

If anyone knows the street address number for the station on Levittown Parkway, let me know so I can post a link to a map.

Looked for it online and even called, couldn't get the building #.

Slim & rescuetruck, you CAN help.

You can show up and donate much-needed blood (it's also a blood drive), and you can tell your family, friends and neighbors about it.

At the very least, spread the word at the firehouse...

sorry to hear the bad news-have a family member that was in same plight-they registered in new jersey & got the transplant there. a real pain-but better than the alternative. that was about 5 years ago. the list was maybe 1/2 or less compared to new yorks.

Don’t forget to come down and help a fellow firefighter out today. Even if you are not Type O you can still donate to help with the decreasing supply of blood in the area.
The fire house is on Levittown parkway off old country road and the drive is 3-8

Was asked to convey THANKS to all the showed and supported.
Was told they collected a total of 70 pints which is supposedly a "good" number.
Hopefully they will find a suitable kidney donor soon.
You can still do so if you are interested.
