Default Updated 02/19/08 - Scanner Feeds              Go to Top

Hi All,

I recently tripped onto this site by looking at some of the incoming website stats (referrals) to my webpage.

I currently run a webpage dedicated to Scanning in Long Island.

I have a live scanner feed setup that is currently feeding Nassau County Fire Departments, with alpha tagging, so you always know what your listening too.

I will have a SCFD feed coming up sometime this summer.

The website can be found in my signature.

The NCFD feed has been running strong since March, and has been recently upgrade to a new radio.

There is also a bunch of old dispatches in mp3 format from the late 70's and early 80's. I also have a county map of all the fire departments, in jpeg format and Google Earth.

*NEW* -> Any calls that I can catch, I've been adding to the website. You can requests audio of recent calls also. Since I'm already sending the data to the net 'live', I've started archiving it as well.

There is also a 2nd feed running that will carry the Blue Angels at Jones Beach this Memorial Day weekend (and practice runs all week), USCG freqs to hear mariners in distress, and I have the Traffic Choppers and news teams plus HELP trucks setup for 'rush hour' listening...(but that's going off topic at this point)

Mods..Please move this post if needed.

Thanks!

Hey Everyone.

Thanks to some donations, and some string pulling (and $70 +tax out of pocket expenses), I've added a 2nd NCFD feed that is coming from WESTERN NASSAU..

This should bring more coverage to my existing NCFD feed (to be renamed NCFD-EAST). Hopefully now, I'll be able to pull in more traffic from Western Nassau, like Malverne, Elmont, Floral Park, Valley Stream etc etc.

I needs to be tweaked little. Right now, its getting stuck on the EDACS channel. I don't have a date fix on that yet.

And just like last year, the Air Show at Jones Beach will be on the Specialty Feed.

Just thought I would take a minute and update the list of Live Scanner feeds that are running.

Its been a busy year for me, and thanks to a few donations (from some members on the Rant), I've been able to expand my coverage.

Here is a quick rundown as to what is currently being fed on my site:
(NCFD-EAST and NCFD-WEST are cloned. They are just located in different parts of Nassau County)

NCFD-EAST | Nassau County Fire Departments. Radio is located in Eastern Nassau County. Alpha tag supported.

NCFD-WEST | Nassau County Fire Departments. Radio is located in Western Nassau County. Alpha tags supported.

NCFD-SOUTH | Nassau County Fire Departments. Radio located in Southern Nassau County. Alpha tags supported. Priority on LBFD.

NCFD-Third_Batt | Nassau County FD Third Battalion ONLY. Radio Located in Western Nassau County. Only scans frequencies for 3rd Battalion Area. No Alpha tags

SCFD-WEST | Suffolk County Fire Departments. Radio located in Eastern Nassau (One town away from Suffolk County). Alpha Tags Supported.

SCFD-EAST | Suffolk County Fire Departments. Radio located on Suffolk's North Fork. Mostly feeds FD's on Suffolk's North Fork. No Alpha Tags.

SCPD | Suffolk County Police Department. Radio located in Suffolk County. No Alpha Tags.

Special | Feed is currently off-line. Will hopefully be active by the end of the year. Check site for details. Alpha tags supported.

NassauSuffolk "MEGA" Feed | Streams Nassau PD&FD, Suffolk PD&FD. Radio located in Western Suffolk.
No alpha tags on this radio, but it is setup with Windows Encoder. You can watch the output display from Butel's ARC15

There are also a bunch of new downloads.
And a new feed may be possible in the next few weeks.

All I ask is that you register to listen to the feeds....and please don't "relay"
Feedback is always appreciated...

Finally...
Have a Merry Christmas - And a Healthy New Year!

Three new feeds have been added since I've last updated this thread.

NCFD-Wantagh_Levittown
| Currently set to only listen to Wantagh FD

NYC-Harbor | Scanning most of the VHF Marine Freqs and USCG. Radio is sitting near the GWB in New Jersey

NCPD | Nassau County Police Department Feed

And a few updates on the status of a few feeds.

SCFD-EAST | Down until we can get a new computer. The last one is officially toast

Special | Will soon be back online. New Stridesburg and power supply have been installed. I just need to program the radio.

Anyway you can get some North Shore coverage? I'm never able to pick up anyone in the 5th batt, short of maybe Roslyn.

The wheels are already in motion for a NCFD-NORTH feed.
We'll see what happens..

The NCFD-SOUTH feed is down. I'll figure it out.

There are no boundaries for any of the feeds.
The East, South, and West feeds scan the same. Its the physical radio location your connecting to.

So, if you are looking for better western nassau coverage, connect to NCFD-WEST.

anything ever develop for the NCFD North (aka bat 5) feed? If not, I might be interested in helping out. I need to know what kind of equipment I would need and how much $ it would be.

There was some interest for a NCFD-North feed from a Rant Member. He was looking to get a computer setup, and I haven't heard anything from him in a while.

Please PM me and we'll take it from there. Its pretty easy to get the feed running... I'm definitely in need of a Northern Nassau location.

While we're on the subject.......
The West feed had a major antenna upgrade done.
The East feed is antenna upgrade is now postponed due to work (Can't get any time off in April)
Special feed is back up and running in "private mode". Once I have time, it will go back "public".
NYC-Harbor is temporarily off line.. That should be back in service as soon as I can get an antenna replaced.
New Feed added - SCFD-Div-2 | Streaming Suffolk's Second Division. Also SCPD 2nd and Command freqs to keep the feed a bit more active.

If anyone has any ideas for more feeds, or would like to lend a hand, please feel free to shoot me a pm!

PS - Jones Beach Air Show will be back on-line this year....
Phil
