i STILL HEAR THEM ON THAT CHANNEL, HOWEVER, I DO SEE THE METRO 21 PORTABLE (800 EDACS TRUNKED) BEING WORN BY MORE OF THE TROOPERS WHEN THEY STOP BY MY FIREHOUSE FOR A BREAK.

All NYSPD info can be found in my sig....
I stress it again - program every freq for Statewide as well as every freq in for Troop-L.
It is a DUPLEX system, and you need both freqs to hear both sides..
BTW - I was oblivious to the new freq, since I have both 155.505 and 155.46 loaded in the same bank.. Like I said.... Load every freq for State and Troop-L
NoSho: I've been listening to 155.525 today (along with 155.505) and Troop-L is not using it. Some other police agency is on there, but not Troop-L. I'll keep searching.
Has anyone else figured out the new mobile frequency? Too bad 155.505 is not a repeater.

OK, Lets try and get to the bottom of this.....
I am hearing 155.505 and 155.665.
One is NYSPD Troop L Dispatch (BASE), the other is NYSPD State Wide Car to Car TAC. I am hearing weak signals on 155.505 which I assume is another Troop, and not the mobiles returning... I was able to hear mobiles from the Cross Island...
Did anyone try putting their radio in SEARCH mode in the 155.x - 156.x range to see if they could find them?? Maybe they just changed PLs?
Are you looking for the frequency that the cars talk back to base on??
Are you listening to 155.525 with PL, or CSQ?
I know someone who has a brother in another troop, and I'll see if he can find out what is doing..
Okay, I found the answer. It seems that sometimes the State Police deviate from their own frequency plan. I loaded up every NYSP freq. I could find, and finally hit on the right one which was actually listed as a Troop-F freq..
The new Troop-L mobile (car-to-base) freq. is 154.935 with PL 85.4. Again, this is a non-repeaterized duplex system, so you have to also load the base freq. 155.505, PL 110.9, to hear both sides of the conversation. The car-to-car freq. is still 154.665, PL 110.9.
BTW, if you load 155.505 without the PL, you might also hear Troop-K up in Westchester. You'll hear the disp. at the "TMC" or Transportation Management Ctr. This combination State Police and DOT dispatching ctr. replaced the old Hawthorne Station. It's kind of like if Troop-L and the DOT "Inform" system shared a joint dispatch center.
