Volunteer F/F "Heart Bill"

I recently found out that I have Coronary Heart Disease and had stents inserted.I filed for benifits under the Volunteer Firefighters Benifit Law.(VFBL)
I have been having trouble finding an attorney who knows anything about this law. Anyone have any experience with this? I spoke with FASNY but they were not very helpful.

Exempts don't know anything about it. Can any chiefs or brothers who are attorneys shed some light on this?

Check with your Fire District's attorney even if he is not well versed in this he may be able to point you in the right direction. Just an idea.
