Yep i have the same thing. i have tried erasing cookies and resetting the browser and it has made no difference. i am sure w2lie knows about it and is working on it.
i have a question about w2lie. when you open up a live feed, is it just a recording of the past hour of transmissions or is it a live feed? and is the southern nassau fire feed down?
It's a live feed and I believe the Southern Nassau feed has been down for a while. I hope he gets it back up or someone else can start another one. I am down here in Florida and miss hearing the Long Island action!
souther nassau is nothing special... you can download many media programs and run as many feeds as you want at a time. i find the NCFD WEST feed to pick up the most action
We crashed our shared hosting server this morning.. as a result the account has been suspended and we were asked to leave. I am in the process of packing up the site and trying to get the domains moved. I have opened up a twitter page so you guys can track any progress... Phil Lichtenberger (w2lie) on Twitter
If you use the site, help the cause by donating a few bucks. There are a ton of expenses involved in running it. We ALL appreciate the hard work that Phil puts into it!
jay - thanks for the kind words.
We've been on the new host for about a month now, and things are slowly getting back to normal.
The most recent addition to the site is that the "Buff Box" now dumps to Twitter every 30 minutes.. so if anyone posts anything into the Buff Box, you can follow along with Twitter. ( and BTW, if anyone knows how to get Twitter Alerts onto your cell phone, please let me know - I've had a few people ask me that ).
In addition, I've set NWS alerts to feed to the Twitter account as well so by following @w2lie should keep you in the loop...

No more Southern Nassau feed unfortuately. It was taken down initially when my desktop crapped out but I have since moved to Suffolk. :(
A dedicated PC with a Serial port or USB connection, a scanner, a scanner data cable (serial or USB) if you want to have Alpha tags shown on the feed, a 3.5mm audio cable to bring sound from the scanner to the PC, and a few free programs and scripts that W2LIE can provide and set-up.
Additionally I purchased a higher-end audio card for the PC I use for the Nassau-North feed because my on-board audio was feeding a lot of other noise into the line.
